Houston Rodeo!

Yesterday Ragnar and I got to leave the kids home and go to the Houston Livestock and Rodeo! The Rodeo is something I have been going to since I was a kid and look forward to each year. I wanted Ragnar to get a little taste of the good ole' country part of Texas. I even rode the Metro downtown for the first time to meet him there, since he already works down there. I have to admit, I was having my mom prepare the "MISSING" flyer's for when I didn't return from the bus, because they are pretty scary in Houston, but I made it safely! We went and saw the Rascal Flats which I love and they were great live! I think he really enjoyed the bull riding and such! It was definitely the most expensive date we have ever been on, but we sure had fun! Gotta love Houston and their number one Rodeo show in the nation!

My friend just posted about going to this. Must be quite the shindig. Looks like a blast. I am glad you and Ragnar got a night out together, and that you survived the metro!

I am so glad that y'all had a great time and I am jealous...I wish Ben and I could buzz down there to go. What a great memory for you guys..and I am sure the Metro alone was quite the adventure for you. :)

What a fun date. Big cities are so fun for events like this. And I'm like you, I'd be making "missing" posters too. You're so funny.

Yeehaw! John and I just missed the big Rodeo in Denver before we moved out here, but we're hitchin' up our chaps so we can go to the Greeley Stampede ... biggest Independence Day celebration in the nation! ... or so we've heard! :) How fun for you .. we love rodeos!
So, about cakes ... although you'll do something amazingly cute, you asked for some ideas ...so, here goes the unloading of my brain ... for the truck idea ... you could bake two loaf cakes ... not all the way full and then cut one in half and put it on top of the full one (for the cab) and then add 4 tires to the sides of the full loaf. Mmm, make any sense??? Then decorate windows. Tinkerbell cake .. maybe just her head, like I did Diego?. I'm sure you'll figure something out!
