Channing's Soccer Banquet

Channing had her AHS soccer banquet this past week. They celebrated at the Bridges and had a nice dinner and ceremony. Channing's played on the JV Red team and their team made a lot of improvements. They weren't the best group of girls, skill- wise, but Channing was an awesome leader and played great defense.

She looked beautiful as always!
She went with her best friend Jenna.
She received the "Eagle Award" that the coaches give to the player on the team that works the hardest, is the most coachable, a leader, and has the best attitude. The award fits her perfectly and I am proud of her hard work despite not having the most talented girls to work with.
She had a good learning season with Coach DeLeon and I am glad she had some good friends to play with.
I am proud of her for being dedicated and doing her best in all she does!

No more brace face!

After 2 years and 1 month Channing officially has no more braces! She was so excited to get them on to "fix" her teeth and now equally excited to get them off.

She grew up SO much in the last two years! In all aspects!
Here she is right before she went in the last day of braces and here she is after! They look great!
I am glad she is happy with her big beautiful smile!

Cavin is officially an ADULT!

We officially have another adult in the house and I am not sure how I feel about it! Time does really just seem to fly by. Cavins birthday was on a Sunday, so we celebrated the couple days before.

We went out to Olive Garden for dinner Friday night with my parents and we had a nice secluded area and it was a nice evening. Saturday night Cavin went with Ikeke, Joaqun, Cody, and Jackson bowling and to the Super Mario Bros 2 movie. They had a nice time goofing off. They also all except Jackson went on a camping adventure to the Dallas area a couple weeks before for their senior trip.

On Sunday we went to church and meetings, then we ate, played games, talked to Ella, and then watched Cars.
The boy still loves Cars and I love that he does. His favorite color is orange, he still loves Chips and Cheese it Snack Mix, Soda, Chocolate milk, and just food in general. He decided he wants to play football in college, so he has been working with a recruiter and also has been accepted to Utah State University, University of Utah, and BYU-Idaho. He is planning on Utah State for now. Due to some medical issues, his application for a mission that was submitted in February was delayed. We are praying for a miracle that he will be able to reapply in June and still be able to go. He is determined to make it happen. He still loves watching soccer and playing. He is a good kid but has major senioritis. We are almost to the end of the year, hopefully he can make it one more month! He has a lot of potential and a lot in store for him. Although some things in life are uncertain to us, I have no doubt that the Lord knows what great things Cavin has in store for him. I hope he had a special birthday.

Turning 43!

March 16 was my birthday! I had the day off  work which makes for a good day in itself :) I woke up and went to workout with my friends Kelsey and Becky and then had a breakfast donut.

My friend Niki sent me Crumbl Cookes and the kids and I enjoyed trying them out.
Since my birthday is often the week of Spring Break, the kids had the day off and we went to Activate to celebrate together.
We had a fun time together and Deacon won a basketball and Cavin a waterbottle. Afterwards we went to Texas Roadhouse and met my parents and sister Natalie for a nice dinner. We had a fun day.

Earlier in the week my friend Jen took me to lunch for a double date at Shoguns and had me wear the monstrous "hat" They sang and it was a whole thing. I am so glad the restaurant was mostly empty at that time!
I was glad I got to celebrate early in Florida and have another day of enjoying with the kids. I am grateful for another year of health and pray I have many more ahead.

Orlando Florida Trip!

Ragnar had a work conference in Orlando at the Gaylord Resort and he invited me to join him and it was a perfect chance for a getaway. It was a little bit of an early birthday trip and my best friend Candice lives there and I got to hang out with her for a few days. She took me on my first trip to DisneyWorld. I love Disney movies, but have never had the chance to go.

It was a nice day. A little warm, but such a great day.
My first ride was Tron and my favorite ride.
I love Belle so we stopped in her area to say hi.
Candice tried to get a photo of her with me. She touched my ears and said they were cute ;)
I tried Dole Whip and a cupcake, both were yummy, but don't kill me, they were not that incredible.
I was not a good driver of this car...I swear the steering was broken!
It's a small world was cute.
We watched the parade and it was fun.
I tried the Mickey pretzel.
The light show parade and fireworks topped off a really nice day!! It really was perfect to be able to catch up with Candice all day and experience Disney world! I am glad I got to experience it, but I do not know that I would need to go again.
The next day we hung out and then went to the Cheesecake Factory for my birthday. I love that place, but the waitress was especially slow.
Afterward we went to Disney Springs and walked around.
We got to see the fireworks at Disney again on the top of the Coke tower. It was a beautiful night.
Saturday we went and did a airboat gator tour.
I love riding on boats. We didn't see a lot of gators, but still had a nice time. We shopped at an outlet mall and watched a movie.

We went to church with Candice Sunday and then our flight got delayed a few times, but we finally got home about midnight. It was a much needed trip and it came at a great time. I am grateful for my mom who helped with the kids and for Ragnar for inviting me to join.

Woodlands Half Marathon

Another year, another 1/2 marathon. I have been needing to have something to focus on, so at the end of January I went on a few longer run and then I decided to go ahead and train and sign up for a half marathon to see if my body could still do it. It was good to have something to work towards. I feel like I've been a little bit lost in a lot of things in my life. Running has always been an outlet for me that I have been grateful for. We had some pretty sad news a couple days before the race about Cavin having to delay his mission and I felt emotionally taxed.

My goal was just to really try and focus on the race and conquer my mind. I was really proud of myself for feeling good the whole race and not letting my emotions overcome me. I really wanted to feel strong and after the week I had, I was grateful that I was able to conquer my mind and finish strong. I have run that race many years and I am grateful my body allowed me to do it again.
