Homecoming 2025

Last weekend was homecoming weekend at Atascocita High School. About a month ago, Cavin asked his friend Macy to join him for the festivities for the weekend.

He had a cute idea and got up the courage to get up on Macys roof and ask her to homecoming! Thankfully he didn't break his leg right as football season is starting :)

He was sweating pretty bad as it was blazing hot and he was nervous, but she said yes :)
They exchanged mums for the game! A ridiculously expensive Texas tradition, but a fun one.
They had a pep rally before the big game!
They played well but got robbed by the refs and ended up losing by 3 to their rival Summercreek!
He played well but it was a bummer to lose! Channing got to sing with the choir the national anthem.
On Saturday evening Cavin went with Macys group to dinner and an after party, they never actually went to the dance.
He was nice enough to have me come take pictures with him.
They looked nice!
Cavin was getting so annoyed at how many pictures the girls were taking, so he joked around and took one.
They ate at State Fair in the woodlands and went to a friends house to hang out afterward. He had a good time and made some memories!

Ragnar is 48!!

Ragnar celebrated another birthday!! It wasn't too exciting of a day, but we enjoyed being able to be with him for the short time we had! He was in Dallas on a business trip and got home just in time for dinner. In all his fancy glory, he chose Canes for dinner so we ate there and hung out with him for the evening.

We decorated the house and our new mattress came just in time! He's a simple guy and we had a simple evening as a family!

Fun Kid Outings

This past week we got to take the kids out for a couple fun outings thanks to the generosity of friends. First we got to take Channing to the Zombies/Descendants World Tour concert. She has been dying to go and was so so excited to be able to get tickets and go. We took her best friend Ellie with us as well.

We got seats in a suite box, and then as much free food as we wanted. Then to top it off, his old co worker got them both a concert t shirt. I was so grateful. They had made their own shirts, but a "real" one is a fun token to remember it by.
She and Ellie sang, recorded, and danced the night away. I love how much energy she has and how excited she is about simple things. The concert was fun, clean, and a dream come true for her. She does a lot for our family and I was so glad we could give this event to her.

A couple days later we took the boys to an Astros game. Deacon had been wanting to go. In my opinion, baseball games aren't as exciting, but we had a nice time being together.

I sure love our kiddos and love making memories with them!

Football season has begun!

Cavin has been waiting 4 years for this Varsity football season. He has been on Varsity since his sophomore year, but had to wait until the kicker in front of him graduated last year to get his starting spot. He has had 3 games and is doing awesome. He has a perfect record in field goals and points after. I am proud of his patience the last year to get to this spot. He was chosen as one of the 10 boys to be in the hype video before games, so they took some fun pictures.

He has to look "tough" :)
I love going to watch him play!!

I'm excited for a good season and for him to show his skills through the season.

Ella made it to the Philippines!

Ella arrived at the Philippines on July 31, 2025. She skipped Deacons birthday on July 30th because she was flying and the time difference made her miss a day, she then arrived in her mission in Laoag on August 21st. She was excited to be there and completely exhausted, but so ready to be done with both MTCs. She has President and Sister Palmer as her mission presidents.

Several missionaries came to the district together.
There is a sweet family that was good friends of my friend through pathways who kindly welcomed Ella. Sister Wenz Ortiz.
She has now been on her mission 3 months and is adapting and doing well. I am proud of her resilience and adaptability. We miss her but know she is where she is supposed to be.

Celebrating Marriage!

On August 7th, Ragnar and I celebrated 21 years of marriage. We both had to work and then we went to Cavins football parent meeting. When we got home, Channing had prepared a sweet dessert for us. She is seriously the sweetest!

She set the "mood" for us :)
She made us brownies and ice cream.
She even carved our saying into apples :) haha LYAAF!

The following weekend we got to celebrate my grandma Wall and her sealing to my dad and grandpa. I was so grateful to be there for my dad being sealed to his biological parents and my grandma to her first husband, my grandpa Lawrence Wayne Speers on August 16, 2025. My dad has been waiting a long time to be sealed to his parents and was glad to finally have that chain linked. I know my grandma was happy to have that ordinance done as well.

Im grateful Ragnar and I got to act as proxy for my grandma and grandpa as my dad was sealed. The gift of eternal families is wonderful. Even though some of our own family relationships are strained right now, I have hope that peace and healing will come. I know it is worth it and families are meant to be eternal.

School Year has begun!

Another school year has begun! Time always moves forward too quickly. They were actually kind of excited to start school. Me and Ragnar both having to work doesn't make for super exciting summers sadly.

Channing started high school at Atascocita High School and is in the 9th grade. She is taking all advanced classes, soccer and choir. She is so excited to be with all her friends now that they will go to the same school. She is our social butterfly.
Cavin is going into 12th grade and will be a senior at Atascocita High School. I can't believe he only has a year left with us :( He has a lighter schedule finally. He only needs one more class to graduate but is taking  several and finishing his last couple college courses to get his associates degree. I am proud of him for continuing on and finishing what he started. He is still in orchestra and on the varsity football team.
Deacon is officially a middle school student in 6th grade at Timberwood Middle School. He is liking it more than he thought he would. He has to ride the bus and he is in all advanced classes. He has to do a fine art credit so he is taking a band class and playing the flute. He surprisingly is enjoying it. He also very much looks forward to his pre athletics class each day. He lives for sports.

I pray the kids all have a great year and are successful at making friends, being a light to others, and learning!
