Thanksgiving 2025!

We had a quiet, relaxing Thanksgiving day. The boys played football in the morning while I went for a long run. We then went over to my parents house to celebrate with my parents and Natalie for the day.

The boys were happy to watch football and we were happy to eat, do a puzzle, and play games.
I am grateful my mom is kind enough to host! We have a lot to be grateful for!

Ella's First Baptism

Ella had her first baptism in the Philippines and was very excited. Mary Joy was baptized right before she transferred to a different area.

She was very happy for Mary Joy to make that choice and be able to be a small part in bringing her truth.
Emerald was baptized shortly after she got to her second area.
She is adjusting so well and learning to love the language, culture, and people. Her Tagalog is getting pretty good and I am so proud of her!

The End of an Era

Cavin has officially finished his final high school football season. We have loved watching him over the years and are sad to not have him on the field anymore. They lost in their first playoff game barely 51-47. They played well and he had an epic field goal, but weren't able to go far this year. The parents decorated the locker room for the playoffs. We had a fun time doing it.

The game was out in Dickenson, so not very close to us.
Cavin played well and at the last second of the half tied the game with a 44 yard field goal.
Instead of having him kick a few more field goals, they went for it each time and ended up losing the game.
He was more sad than I expected him to be about never playing on a high school field again.
He has spent a lot of time with Coach Stump and the football program. I think it has taught him a lot of lessons, but also I am so glad to have some of his time back and his focus to be on something else.
A few weeks after the game, we found out he won 2nd all team district award for kicker and we are super proud of all his hard work! He has had to teach himself as he hasn't had a lot of support or a kicking coach help him. Im amazed at how much he learned by teaching himself.

Deacon's Heatwave Tournament

Deacon had his Heatwave soccer tournament this past weekend. They ended the regular season in 2nd place. It started with a game on Friday night which he won 4-2. He played really well and scored 3 goals.

My parents came over to watch him play. They are always "ultra" supportive as Deacon says.
He and I went to dinner and celebrated with ice cream after since the rest of the family was at Cavin's football game.
Saturday they huddled and got to work. They won the first game pretty easily.
They made it to the championship game and unfortunately lost. This is like the 4th second place finish in a row. He can't seem to win the championship games.
He played hard and did his best. It was the first time in a LONG time that he didn't have Ragnar coach him. His coach Lurie was the coach this season.
This year they won rings instead of trophies.
Deacons teammates voted him as the MVP, so they gave him a special trophy. He is a big player on his team. I'm proud of him and he is so fun to watch and really LOVES to play soccer.

Senior Night for AHS Football

November 1, 2025 was senior night at Turner stadium for the football game against Channelview High School. What started out as a beautiful afternoon, quickly turned into a cold, wet game.

Cavin's official banner at Turner Stadium.
We got to put up the banners and then go on the fields as they announced the seniors.
Our cute boy! I can't believe he's almost 18!
Celebrating his accomplishments on the field.
It got rainy and wet real fast! Since we were up by so much and ended up winning 70-0 my parents didn't make it the whole game.
Cason is Cavins biggest cheerleader.
We made it through the regular season and are on to playoffs. Each game it is the responsibility of the kickers (who knows WHY!) to bring cookies for the trainers and football players to the game for them to eat on the bus ride home. Thankfully the Walmart close to us was willing to donate them most of the season. It was so fun watching him progress each week. He is 64 for 65 in PATs for right now. He even got his first D1 scholarship offer from A&M prairie view. I am proud of his many years of hard work!

Halloween 2025

Halloween has come and gone. I'm not sad as I don't really enjoy Halloween, but it is a fun night for the kids. We went to a church Trunk or Treat and Cavin participated in the haunted house while the others got candy.

Channing and her friends were mimicking the game "kiss, marry, kill" and she was the bride that represented Marry.
Deacon was a glow in the dark Skelton again this year since it still fit ;)
Deacon got to trick with his friends Casey and Noah
We went around the neighborhood and hung out with friends.
Cavin is a goofball. I am not sure if he lost a bet or what, but he was princess peach for Halloween.
He looks pretty good :) haha. His friends were the other Super Mario characters.
I'm grateful for the good friends my kids are able to be surrounded by.

Cavin's Sleep Study

Cavin is still trying to figure a few things out and we had to do a sleep study overnight to get some testing done. He and I got to hang out one night at a sleep center while he tried to sleep.

Thankfully we got the results back and he doesn't have sleep apnea so we are on to other testing.
