Cavins Endowment and Mission Call

Cavin decided he wanted to go through the temple before youth conference right after school was out for the summer. On June 6th he received his endowment in the Houston Texas Temple. It was a special day. My brother Chris ended up being in town and was able to join as well as my parents and sister Natalie. We also had some friends join. I am so grateful he wanted to move forward with making those covenants even if he didn't know what his mission future looked like at this point.

On June 15th, exactly 4 months after he submitted his mission papers the first time, he received his mission call. He had to delay for 4 months until he could stabilize a medical condition of his. It was a very difficult 4 months as he watched 13 of his friends in our ward open mission calls not knowing if he would be able to serve and what a mission might look like. Ragnar unfortunately was out of town in California and Ella we called on FaceTime. My parents were going to come over, but my dad had finished his last radiation and was not feeling well. So, we opened the call with just our immediate family first. He was so nervous to open the email, and then so relieved when he opened his call and discovered he could serve a proselyting mission for 2 years to Berlin, Germany. One of the places he really wanted to go!! He was in tears and so relieved. He said he felt seen by Heavenly Father and I am so grateful. He had to wait 4 months and has to wait 4.5 more months to actually go. He will be set apart October 28, 2026. The timing isn't ideal, but we are trusting the Lord knows better than us and it is what His plan for him is.

Our Bishop Brown was there to help him through the process.

He wanted to open it with family and friends 2 days later when Ragnar got home and our house was filled with over 100 people to love and support him as he found out where he would serve. It was wonderful!

Here was a picture of the kids. Cavin is a great kid and people love him! I'm so grateful he gets to serve the people of his heritage and learn German.

Memorial Day!

We spent Memorial Day at the beach with friends. I am not a beach person, but decided to forgo my disinterest for the sake of friendships. The weather ended up being nice and we had a good time.

There were so many teenage boys so lots of football and volleyball! 

Channing brought her friend Heidi with her and they spent a lot of time in the water! 

Cavins had his besties there as well. 

We wore Deacon out! It was a nice family day together. 

Graduation # 3

Finally we went to Cavins Seminary graduation from the Church Education program. He attended early morning classes at our church building every morning at 5:50 a.m. for 4 years. Even if he didn't love some of his teachers and it was a struggle to wake up, he went and he completed it. I hope it was a blessing in his life. 

They did a graduation at the stake center. 

I'm so grateful for my parents and sisters endless support and how many events they came to in such a short period of time. 

I literally made 12 dozen cookies in the last week to bring them to so many events :)

We went to his graduation group party and celebrated one more time there! There were 19 kids recognized there.

I am so excited and hopeful for his future! He has bright things ahead! He began his internship with Drywall Construction company for the summer where he attends business meetings and works on sites to learn skills as well. He also re-submitted his mission papers on May 24th and we are praying the church allows him to serve a mission soon. Although his future is uncertain, I have faith in him. 

Atascocita High School Graduation # 2

Cavin graduated from Atascocita High School on Saturday, May 23, 2026. It was a very stormy, rainy morning, but thankfully the weather took a small break when we walked in and when we left. It was at the Daikin park where the Astros play. It wasn't the best venue as you couldn't hear well and the audience was loud, but NRG wouldn't let us use their facility as it is preparing for the World Cup. 

There were a lot of graduates! 

He is a handsome kid and we are so proud of who he is!

It was a beautiful day. We went to Texas Roadhouse afterward to celebrate with him.
