Senior Awards

Cavin had his last week of senior year filled with events. His first was an awards ceremony for his senior class where he got 4 awards.

He got an award for Top 10 %, College Algebra, UT on ramps, and UIL scholar award with orchestra. 

This is also his letter jacket he received last year.

He did Eagle Springs Elementary walk through as well. 

We loved ESE and are sad all our kids are now too old for elementary.

He also had his last orchestra concert and banquet.

I have loved watching him develop his talent and play over the years. He is a very good cellist and I love that he loves to play. He had an incredible year and we are proud of him!! The football team didn't do a banquet cause their coach retired, but he would have gotten several awards there and all district academic award was the top one he was given but nor presented. 

He has had a lot of things not go his way, but I am proud of him for pushing forward even amongst a lot of unfairness in his life.

Prom x 2

Cavin unexpectedly got to go to Prom twice! Not having planned either, he had fun given the opportunity and enjoyed his time. He still doesn't really want anything to do with girls at the moment, so for his Atascocita High School one when someone gave him a ticket they couldn't use, he just went with his guy friends and had a good time!

They were so funny during the "photo shoot" and I really enjoyed taking the photos they posed for.

Only 2 of the boys went to the prom downtown. They all all went to dinner together and then split since they go to 3 different schools.

Ikeke and Cavin went downtown to the actual prom.

They met the boys for an after party at Joaquins after and had a good time! 

The second Prom was "Simply Prom" hosted by our church. A girl in another ward/area asked him to go with her, so he took her and tagged along with a group of his friends.

He had a fun time at both and I am glad he is able to make these memories! 

The End of an Era!

Our family has been playing for the Texas Heatwave soccer program for 13 years now. We have enjoyed watching our kids play and progress over the years. This season was the last one for Cavin. He really wanted to have Ragnar coach him one last season and create a team with some of his closest senior friends. Saturday was tournament day. They finished an undefeated season as the U15-18 League champions. 

Some of his best friends played. Joaquin, Jackson, Cody and Ikeke. They do a lot together and it was fun to have this last experience and memory.

Several kids from our ward were on the team which was fun.

The fabulous 5! 

I'm so glad Ragnar and Cavin can share their love of soccer together and that Ragnar loves coaching and helping kids grow!

On the other hand, Deacon also played and did not have as great of a season. He played up with U13-14 and played on the big fields. It was definitely and adjustment playing with bigger kids on a bigger field. He made progress and continues to learn.

He's used to being ahead and winning, so he was a little frustrated with the team and some of the lack of skill, but his love of soccer overrides it all and he just loves to play! I love our soccer family and I will really miss watching Cavin play! 

Channing is 15!

Channing turned 15 on April 23rd and we loved celebrating her! Unfortunately, it was a school day, but we made the best of it. We started the day with donuts. 

We love our birthday donuts. 

Channing always has a very detailed birthday list that we can use as help for gift ideas. She got AirPods, a watch, a purse/wallet, a James Avery bracelet, Kendra Scott necklace, shoes, a lifeguard uniform, a beanie boo, and so much more. 

We went to Chipotle for dinner and then watched a movie together that evening and the next day when Ragnar got back in town, we went to get a pedicure. 

Channing is seriously the best helper! She is always thinking about others and concerned for their well being. She is smart and responsible. She is a great baker/cook. She likes to help me make dessert or dinner when needed. She loves pink and girly things, but is also tough. She is selfless and kind and writes the sweetest notes. She has great penmenship and is very creative. She is a good friend and listener and mature beyond her years. She still loves giraffes, chips, movies, and music and has a beautiful voice singing. She really is a great kid and I am grateful I get a front row seat to watch her progress and grow.

She and her friends decided to be lifeguards for the summer, so she certified and had her first shift this weekend. They scheduled her for 10 hours! A long/rude awakening into the working world, but she did great and I hope she has a fun summer making money and memories!
