Cavin is officially a MISSIONARY!

Cavin was officially set apart as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on September 8th and began service the next morning. President Scott came over and pronounced a sweet blessing. Ella was able to call in and be a part of it. It was special. She bore her testimony before and it was sweet.

His missionary tags didn't come in time, so he was bummed about that, but they eventually came. I'm sure the earlier start time messed up the tags.
I'm proud of him! He is a great kid.

We took pictures together before he left. It was a great time at the temple.

Brotherly love.
It was a beautiful night.
Hes so excited to go to Germany.
Sporting our Germany jerseys to support.
Hes always had a love of Germany.
He gave his farewell talk and did a fabulous job on his musical number and talk.

He had great support and I think he felt like it went well.

I love this picture of both of my missionaries :)
Wednesday, September 23rd Cavin left for the Provo MTC. We had to leave at 4:45 am to take him to his flight. It was so sad to see him go. No one wanted to let him go. He stood by us for a little while before he finally got the courage to walk away. It was hard.

Off to go and do!
Thankfully Aunt Daphne came to pick him up from the airport and was able to fill in for us!
She was sweet and took him on a tour of temple square.
It was a nice outing before he headed to lunch and the MTC
Aunt Marisa also met him and they said goodbye for us. I'm grateful for family support.
He made it to the MTC and took the obligatory picture!
I came home and cleaned out his room since that is how I deal with stress and sadness. I cried the whole day. For some reason I could not pull myself together. We are really gonna miss Cavin. He has been such a vital part of our family and we will miss him a lot. It's also been a very emotional last 5 years or so. I feel like I've been on this roller coaster with him and now I had to step off and he has to keep going. Ive been very invested in his emotional wellness for years and I just have to hand it to the Lord now and know the Lord is going to do great things through him and help him be the person he is and who he will continue to become. I love you Cavin, God speed son!
